Relaxing whilst doing Competition Law is not an Oxymoron

Apologies

with 3 comments

Alfonso and I owe a big apology to Francesco Carloni (Shearman & Sterling), Luca Crocco and Gianni de Stefano (Latham & Watkins).

Our friends organized yesterday an anniversary cocktail to celebrate the first year of existence of Italian Antitrust Association antitrustitalia.

I came back late from Bruges, where I gave a presentation at the 8th ELEA seminar. I learned there that Phedon Nicolaides will take over Jacques Pelkmans as the head of the economics department.

Alfonso had other, very good reasons.

PS: I just fixed the link to the BSC brochure.

  1. Nico, I think that our presence was not exactly indispensable. I hear that that we missed a nice event, though, and that Elisabetta Righini (from Commissioner Almunia’s cabinet) delivered a very good speech on competition law in times of crisis.

And thanks to Luca Crocco and to Gianni di Stefano (Latham Watkins) for pointing out that we got the name of the association wrong; Associazione Antitrust Italiana is a different association made of more senior lawyers (i.e. the incumbent). Antitrustitalia is the new entrant.

    • The only dvd I´m seeing lately is one that only contains cartel evidence!
